International Conference "Cities Coping with Global Crisis" | 29-31 October, Bandung, Indonesia

International Conference “Cities Coping with Global Crisis” will be held from 29 to 31 October 2009 at     Bandung, Indonesia within the framework of the International Coalition of Cities against Racism and Discrimination. The Conference is jointly organized by the Governor of West Java Province (Indonesia), the United Cities and Local Government - Asia Pacific (UCLG-ASPAC) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The Conference will deal with the following sub-themes:

1. The Crisis and the ‘Right to the City’

2. Cities as Melting Pots: Building Bridges between Indigenous and New Communities

3. Towards an Inclusive Society: Opportunities to Overcome the Crisis       

4. Municipalities Facing the Crisis: Challenges Policy and Practices
