3rd UCLG ASPAC Congress 2010

Several
hundreds of Local Government experts from Asia Pacific will
gather at the 3rd UCLG ASPAC Congress 2010
“Responding to Globalization”, hosted by Hamamatsu City, Japan
on 19-22 October 2010. The Congress will take place at ACT City,
Hamamatsu.
The Congress
will be highlighting the following topics:

Inter-city
Cooperation in the Economic Sector

Tourism
Promotion Through the Use of Local Resources

Local
Autonomy and Decentralization
-
Multicultural Society

Hamamatsu is
located in the center of Japan, roughly midway between Tokyo and
Osaka. The Tomei Expressway and Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet
train), two central arteries, also pass through the city giving
it excellent transportation links. Access to Hamamatsu from
overseas is possible from Narita International Airport (Tokyo),
Central Japan International Airport (Nagoya) and Kansai
International Airport (Osaka). In March 2009, Mt. Fuji Shizuoka
Airport will open, making it even more convenient to come to
Hamamatsu.
